Get a quick overview of non-surgical nose job procedures including liquid rhinoplasty and PDO thread lift, along with their pros and cons.
Over the last decade, dermal fillers have made cosmetic beauty mainstream. Whether it is lip fillers, botox, under-eye lifts, or even nose jobs, fillers have become a quicker, safer and less permanent alternative to ‘beauty by going under the knife.’ The same holds true for rhinoplasty or nose jobs. This article examines what is liquid rhinoplasty; how effective are its results; and if there are any side effects. What is Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty? Non-surgical rhinoplasty, sometimes also referred to as liquid rhinoplasty or a liquid nose job is a cosmetic procedure that involves injecting dermal fillers like hyaluronic acid underneath the skin to temporarily change the shape of the nose. Another alternative is to use nasal threads to alter the shape of the nose. “Fillers are all about optical illusion; if you can put fillers appropriately, you can make even thick fillers appear thin,” says Dr. Debraj Shome. What’s The Procedure For Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty? Currently, there are two major non-surgical rhinoplasty procedures available to the public: liquid rhinoplasty and PDO thread lift.

- Liquid Rhinoplasty The procedure for a liquid nose job is fairly simple; after a pre-procedure consultation, the patient is asked to lie down with their face tilted upwards. One may receive a topical anaesthetic on the nose to avoid any pain from the needle. After the anaesthetic takes effect, the doctor will inject the filler into the target areas. The whole process takes about 15 - 45 minutes.
- PDO Thread Lift Popularly called the ‘Lunchtime Nose Job,’ the PDO thread lift involves using threads to lift and subtly reshape the nose. “Initially, when we started talking about threads for the nose and utilising some of these thread procedures, people, especially in the United States thought we were crazy. But this time I’ve been invited to the Miami cosmetic surgery convention to speak about the particular procedure itself,” says Dr. Shome.
